Grant joined thl in 2005 in a Chief Operating Officer role and was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer in December 2008. Grant is also currently Chairman of the Board of the New Zealand industry organisation, TIA (Tourism Industry Aotearoa). Within thl Grant is also Chairman of the joint venture businesses, Action Manufacturing in New Zealand and Just Go Motorhomes in the UK.
Grant’s background includes senior executive roles across the tourism, hospitality, gaming and retail industries where he held director and general management roles within the retail sector before moving into tourism. Prior to joining thl Grant was a General Manager at SKYCITY Auckland. Grant holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Victoria University and has completed executive studies at the Insead Advanced Management Programme in Fontainebleau, and Monash University, Melbourne Australia.
Joining thl in February 2014, Mark leads the finance function including reporting to the Board of Directors, external reporting, internal and external auditing, investor relations and banking relationships. He also fulfils the New Zealand Stock Exchange requirements of thl as a listed entity. Mark’s background includes senior finance roles in the media, gaming and entertainment, and telecommunications sectors. Prior to joining thl, Mark was CFO of The Radio Network. Mark holds a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons) degree from Waikato University and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Joining thl in December 2015, Jo leads all current business operations and revenue lines, ensuring the development and delivery of the strategic business & operations plans; and being accountable for the customer experience. Jo was previously Chief Operating Officer of Spark Digital’s (formerly Gen-i) services division, was Acting CEO of Gen-i and held numerous marketing, operations and strategy leadership positions within the Spark Group (formerly Telecom) over an 18-year period. Jo left Telecom briefly in the late 1990s to gain experience overseas and was responsible for business customer services at Telewest plc (now Virgin Media) in London for four years. Jo plays an active role in mentoring young women; she was one of 16 New Zealand participants in the 2011 Global Women in Leadership programme. She is also a director of Kiwi Expat Association New Zealand (KEA). Jo holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Economics and Psychology from the University of Auckland.
After a successful career in the construction industry in New Zealand, Australia and the USA Grant co-founded KEA Campers in 1995. As the primary shareholder within the KEA Group, Grant maintained 100% ownership of KEA Manufacturing and supplied product to KEA New Zealand, KEA Australia and KEA South Africa. Grant is Managing Director of thl's vehicle manufacturing joint venture, Action Manufacturing LP of which he owns 50%. In addition to these responsibilities Grant also leads the vehicle sales business for thl in New Zealand and has a particular focus on the RV Super Centre based in Albany, Auckland.
Joining thl in August 2014, Keith is responsible for the technology direction, product development and creating a best in class online user experience for thl customers. Keith spent the previous 12 years in the USA building consumer facing products in the education space, holding various positions ranging from Co-founding partner to Senior Vice President of Engineering. Keith holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Information and Operations Management from Texas A&M University.
Matt joined thl in April 2010 as Commercial Operations Manager and progressed through to the role of National Operation Manager for NZ Rentals in January 2012. In August 2013 Matt moved across to Melbourne and now leads the Australian Operations. Matt’s background includes a number of operation management roles within the SKYCITY Group in New Zealand and financial analyst roles within the Gaming industry in London. Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Auckland University.
Joining thl in May 2012, Gordon has led the Discover Waitomo Group including the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Aranui Cave, Ruakuri Cave and the Legendary Black Water Rafting Company. Gordon assumes the role of General Manager, New Zealand Rentals Operations as of 1 July 2016. Gordon’s background includes extensive experience in leadership roles in conservation and heritage based tourism and land management in the UK and New Zealand. Gordon’s UK experience includes General Management roles leading land management and tourism businesses for the National Trust. Prior to joining thl, Gordon led the northern region of Heritage New Zealand’s heritage tourism division. Gordon holds an MBA and a Masters degree in Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham.
Ben joined thl in January 2013, as Pricing & Revenue Manager for the Australian & NZ rental businesses, bringing extensive commercial and operational experience from the Energy and Telecommunications industries. In August 2015 Ben assumed the role Head of Market Development & Partnerships for thl's new peer-to-peer RV business, Mighway. As of July 2016, Ben heads up Kiwi Experience, New Zealand’s premier hop on/ hop off youth bus adventures.
Kate joined thl in 1991 in the Sales and Marketing team as Account Manager for North America. She left in 1996 and held several part-time and contract marketing roles whilst raising a family before re-joining the company again in 2003 as Sales & Marketing Manager for New Zealand. Kate joined the executive team in November 2009 as General Manager Marketing & Customer Experience and as of April 2014, has assumed responsibility for Group Revenue for the self-drive experience businesses, and overall responsibility for marketing and sales channels. Kate holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business from Auckland University.
Brett joined thl in October 2015 and he and his team are responsible for supporting thl in all its global human resources activities. Brett is an experienced HR professional and has worked in diverse businesses such as technology, aviation, corporate services and the manufacturing sector. He has held senior HR roles over the last 12 years, leading teams within Carter Holt Harvey, Air New Zealand and Orion Health on both a regional and/or global scale. Prior to moving into human resources, Brett also had experience in a number of other business disciplines including sales, marketing and information technology.
Daryl joined thl in January 2014 as Commercial Operations Manager - New Zealand Rentals. He successfully lead the operational management of the NZ Rentals business through three peak seasons and in July 2016 commenced leading the New Zealand Vehicle Sales and Service business. Daryl brings strong experience in Operations management, Commercial analysis, and People leadership. This background has been developed within a variety of sectors including Tourism, Event Management and Marketing/Communications. Daryl holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and a Bachelor of Tourism degree, from Victoria University, Wellington.
Joining Road Bear RV in January 2013 as Chief Operating Officer, Hannes assumed the full responsibility for the motorhome rental and sales business in the USA in January 2015. Hannes has extensive experience in executive leadership roles in the USA, Europe and the Middle East in the financial services, supply management, consulting and manufacturing industries. Hannes holds a Master of Economics and Computer Science degree from the University of Zurich.
Following the acquisition of Los Angeles based Road Bear RV, of which Daniel was one of the vendors, Daniel joined thl on 31st December 2010 as CEO & President. Returning to Switzerland in January 2015, Daniel now acts in the capacity of Director to the USA Operations and consultant to thl group. A Swiss and US citizen, Daniel has over 25 year’s experience in the USA rental RV industry with expertise in sales, operations, product design and business general management/ownership. Daniel holds a Bachelor degree in Automotive Engineering from Biel Switzerland.
Dave joined thl in July 2015 as Chief Operating Officer – New Business Development. This role sees Dave leading the development of Mighway – thl's new global peer-to-peer travel services proposition. Prior to joining thl, Dave held senior leadership roles with Air New Zealand and Les Mills International. He spent 14 years offshore, working in the travel and tourism industry for both large corporates and entrepreneurial start-ups. Dave holds a Masters of Commerce from Otago University.
